On December 2, 2011, Tracy Shedd performed a live concert at New World Brewery in Ybor City, Tampa, Florida. Friend, Aaron O'Laughlin, recorded a video - youtu.be/_Fdk27Y3lTg - of Shedd playing her (then) new version of the song "How Your Eyes Affect Me," originally released on Shedd's 'EP88' (Eskimo Kiss Records, 2010). For the next nine years, O'Laughlin's YouTube documentation would serve as Shedd's own personal favorite recording of that song, despite the overdriven and incomprehensible audio quality from the consumer-level video camera used, and it would become the sole influence that inspired Shedd and husband, James Tritten, to branch off and create their electronic music side project, Band & The Beat, which ultimately laid the foundation for Tracy Shedd's six studio album, 'The Carolinas' (Science Project Records, 2019). Following the release of 'The Carolinas,' Shedd immediately hit the studio again to capture what the duo performed in the Sunshine State nearly one decade before. "How Your Eyes Affect Me (The New World Brewery Version)" is a brand new recording of Shedd's classic hit, influenced by the current studio production techniques of 'The Carolinas'.
